Be The ChangeNational Coordinator Position Open
SAALT is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, hard-working individual to spearhead Be the Change efforts in 2010. The Be The Change National Coordinator will coordinate logistics, materials, correspondence, trainings, and implementation of the October 2, 2010 Be the Change National Gandhi Day of Service.
Be the Change: National Gandhi Day of Service (BTC) is an annual event sponsored by SAALT that fosters leadership and community engagement through volunteerism and service. BTC empowers participants to engage in collective public service and civic action. This year, BTC will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, in over 50 cities and college campuses across the country.
In order to develop leadership among young people, SAALT typically selects a college student (a rising junior or senior) for this position. We encourage college students who are looking for a leadership position that will help enhance their communications, organization, and outreach skills to apply.
Compensation
This is a temporary position from May to October 2010, and SAALT provides a monthly stipend. The BTC National Coordinator hours vary from 20 hours/week in May; full-time from June-August; and 25 hours/week in September and October.
