Constitution &
Bylaws Article The
name of the organization is Article II. PURPOSE Korean
Student Association is for promoting a wider understanding of Korean, and
Korean-American culture between members and the university community through
involvement and participation in various social and cultural activities. Article III. MEMBERSHIP Section
1. Eligibility KSA
membership is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at Section

Anyone who is interested in joining KSA, elected by a majority of voting
members in the meeting or event, has the right to participate all the events.
Section
3. Responsibility Each
member shall be obligated to update their contact information and to join
internet poll in website in order to utilize their own rights. Section
4. Term The
membership term begins on October 1, and ends on Sep. 30 the following year.
Article IV. OFFICERS Section
1. President The
President represents KSA at all official functions and responsible for the
organized maintenance of the organization. Section
2. Vice President The
Vice President shall aid the President in all events and meetings and shall
be considered the leader when the president is absent. Section
3. Secretary The
Secretary shall keep the records of the membership and the minutes of the
meetings of KSA. With the direct of the President, the Secretary shall
coordinate meetings and events. Section
4. Treasurer The
Treasurer is responsible for the transaction, distribution, planning and
records of all funds. Section
5. Election The
president shall be elected by a majority vote of members at one of the
general meeting or by Executive Board no later than end of October. All other
officers of the KSA shall be appointed by the President. If needed, more than
one person can be assigned at each position by the President and approved by
Executive Board. Section
6. Term Officers
shall serve for one year or until their successors are elected/appointed and
qualified. Section
7. Eligibility All
officers shall keep good academic records by maintaining GPA above 2.0 at any
quarter. Presidents shall appoint officers among the qualified voting
members. Failure to keep the requirement causes replacement of the officer.
Article V. MEETINGS Section
1. General Meetings General
Meetings shall be held at least twice a year at time and place determined by
Executive Board, where any matters concerning KSA shall be discussed. Section
2. Officer Meetings Officer
meeting is for operating KSA shall be held at least once a quarter with
proper notice of time, location, and agenda. .
Article VI. EXECUTIVE BOARD Executive
board shall appear in the forms of internet suggestion and internet poll by
voting member. If it is needed, President shall open Executive Board.
Suggestions by voting member through web board and/or through officer meeting
shall be collected. 2/3 of agreement among participants in the internet poll
shall make a decision. Article VII. AMENDMENT If
amendment of constitution is suggested by more than 3 voting members, the
president of KSA shall open officer meeting and discuss the proposed
amendment in detail. Decision shall be made through Execution Board and be
notified by email and/or Website. Article VII. ADVISOR After nomination hearing 1) from former advisor or Nomination 2) from Officer Meeting, Execution Board shall decide advisor. The President of KSA meets him/her and obtain the agreement of being new advisor.
